How to Service and Repair a Trunk Lock Cylinder on 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

When working on or repairing the trunk or liftgate lock cylinder, disconnect and separate the negative battery cable before anything else. Then, take out the latch control. After that, unclip the retainer that secures the lock cylinder to the liftgate and take out both the lock cylinder and its gasket. Don't take out the E-clip on the back of the lock cylinder while you are doing this step.
