2008 Chrysler Town & Country Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Air Bag Sensor in the Front Door Safely on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: To access the side impact sensor in the front door, first disconnect the negative battery cable and wait two minutes before doing any work on the Supplemental Restraint System. Do not touch, strike or drop the side impact sensor, since this may cause damage or issues with the sensor and it must be replaced. Make sure the gasket between the pressure-type side impact sensor and the front door module carrier panel is in tact and properly placed for sealing. Mount the side impact sensor on the panel under the front door, so that the arrow on its label points downward. Attach the sensor by tightening the two screws after installation. Attach the front door wire harness connector to the sensor connector receptacle and set the trim panel back onto the inside of the front door. Do not connect the battery negative lead until you finish the SRS verification test after changing any SRS component.
