How to Properly Install a Crankshaft Seal to Avoid Damage on 2008 Dodge Caliber?

Start by filing the crankshaft with 800 emery cloth to clear any burs or damage and once that's done, clean the crankshaft with Mopar(R) brake parts cleaner. Lubricate Seal Guide 9509 with clean engine oil and then set it on the crankshaft. Put the seal on so that the lip of the seal lines up with the crankcase as you install it. Take the Driver Handle C-4171 and Seal Driver 9706 and press them into the seal so the Seal Driver hits the block fully. Put in the flex plate, then the washer on top of it and tighten the new flex plate bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). The last important step is the installation of the transaxle.
