2008 Dodge Challenger Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Disassemble the Front Steering Knuckle with Ball Joint Press C-4212F on 2008 Dodge Challenger?
A: For best results, mount Ball Joint Press C-4212F in a vise when taking apart the front steering knuckle. Clip Ball Joint Remover/Installer 9320 into the cup area of Ball Joint Press C-4212F and tighten the set screw. Screw the end of the screw-drive on Ball Joint Press C-4212F with Ball Joint Remover/Installer 9320-3. Use a pair of snap-ring pliers to take out the snap-ring from the ball joint's bottom. First, put Support Clamp 1670-37 on top of the ball joint and the Ball Joint Remover/Installer 9320-1 around the knuckle so they are aligned. Then, snug the Support Clamp screws you get on top from underneath the vehicle. Hold the knuckle over the tools and make sure the Remover reaches the bugger inside the Receiver from above. Now, hand tighten the Press screw-drive until the Remover rests on the bottom of the ball joint. Set the Receiver into the recessed part of Support Clamp, Ball Joint Remover/Installer 9320-1. From the bottom, press the Press screw-drive to ease the ball joint from the knuckle and down the Receiver. First, loosen the screw-drive and detach the knuckle from the Press, after that remove the ball joint from the Receiver. After that, unscrew and remove the Support Clamp from the knuckle.
