2008 Dodge Dakota Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rocker Arm Assembly on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: Make sure to remove the negative terminal from the battery when you work on or repair your rocker arm assembly, just in case anything goes wrong. Take off the cylinder head cover. To take out the rocker arm from cylinder No. 4, start the crankshaft until No. 1 cylinder is at BDC intake. Cylinder No. 1 should be turned to BDC combustion when you are on the crankshaft. Volumes 3 and 5 call for rotating the crankshaft so that cylinder No. 1 stops at the very top of its exhaust stroke. In order to use cylinders No. 2 and No. 6, rotate the crankshaft so the top of cylinder No. 1 aligns with the front of the No. 1 spark plug. Gently squeeze down the Remover/Installer 8516 lever on the valve spring to take out the rocker arm.
