  A: The first thing to do when servicing the windshield washer pump is to disconnect and isolate the battery's negative cable. Tip out the washer fluid from the reservoir into a clear container that you can reuse. After lifting the car, pull itself, then push between the right front wheel house splash board and the front bumper to gain access to the outboard side of the combination washer reservoir/coolant reserve bottle. Unplug the wire harness from both the washer pump/motor and the pump's outlet nipple. Pull on the top of the washer pump/motor housing, moving it backwards, to break the snap connection between it and the motor receptacle inside the reservoir. Place a wide, flat-bladed trim stick or similar tool into the reservoir inlet hole of the washer pump and carefully lift the nipple out of the rubber seal. Now, detach and throw away the rubber grommet seal that is fitting inside the mounting hole in the reservoir.
