2008 Dodge Durango EGR Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How is the EGR Valve Installed on a 3.7L Engine on 2008 Dodge Durango?
A: Before fitting the EGR valve to your 3.7L engine, first clean the area where the valve gasket will be placed at the rear of the left cylinder head, as well as the EGR tube. Following this, insert a gasket over the EGR valve and between the valve and cylinder head, then attach the EGR valve to the cylinder head with two bolts, secure both with a torque of 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Once you have done that, fit a new gasket to the EGR tube flange and the EGR valve assembly, locate the EGR tube towards the side of the EGR valve and attach the tube's end into the intake manifold using two bolts tightened to 11 Nm (8.5 ft. lbs.). Attach the electrical connector to the top of the EGR valve solenoid, afterward insert the windshield wiper motor and secure the plastic cowl panel. After that, attach the battery's negative cable and run a diagnostic scan to clear any previous DTC downcodes stored by the computer.
