If you're just changing the A/C evaporator, pour in 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the recommended oil to the refrigerant system. Whenever a refrigerant line is opened, it's important to replace the seals and gaskets to stop refrigerant leaks. Make sure the rear A/C evaporator is placed into the top of the rear HVAC housing, then remove all tape and plugs from both the opened evaporator and extension tube and from the rear expansion valve ports.
