2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Seat Belt and Retractor Unit on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Turn off and disconnect the negative terminals of the battery on the SRS system and then wait two minutes before handling the seat belt and retractor assembly. Pull the front seat up as close as you can to help you reach the seat belt anchor and B-pillar trim. First, work the trim stick or any flat-bladed tool beneath the seat belt anchor cover in the rear of the outboard seat side shield to gently lift it up. Separate the seat belt lower anchor screw that attaches to the bracket on the outboard section of the front seat cushion frame. Unsnap and throw away the trim cover covering the height adjuster on the upper B-pillar, then remove the screw holding the seat belt turning loop to its mount. Take out the belt loop from the height adjustment and pull the upper and lower trims off from within the B-pillar. Take out the screw between the belt web guide and the rivet nut, then unplug the body wire harness from the seat belt tensioner initiator. On vehicles manufactured for the export market with driver's seat only, separate the second body wire harness connector from the seat belt switch connector receptacle on the retractor. Open the lower retractor bracket screw, pull apart the connection between the upper retractor bracket and the B-pillar and lastly, remove the front seat belt and retractor unit from the B-pillar.
