Before you can service and repair the second row right outboard seat belt and retractor of a long wheelbase vehicle, start by taking the seats and lower and upper anchor bolts out of the first row. After that, remove the liftgate sill plate and upper liftgate trim and then take out the second set of seat belt lower and upper anchor bolts. Take out the D-pillar trim and then pull out the speaker connector from the rear after removing the trim. Take the quarter trim bolster, all the screws holding it and the quarter trim panel out of your car. To reach the seat belt retractor fasteners, take off the bracket around the HVAC, release the
Air Duct and undo the HVAC-to-quarter panel fasteners first. With care, lift off the back HVAC unit to see the cable route and seat belt and then remove the bolts connecting both to the inner quarter panel. Ultimately, pull the second row seat belt and retractor out of the car. While setting up, mount the second row seat belt and retractor, then pull on the HVAC unit and fasten the retractor bolt to the inner quarter panel by hand-tightening it to 39 N.m (29 ft. lbs.). Bolt the seat belt guide loop to your car, attach the fasteners for the HVAC unit, install the air duct and fix the trim panel retaining bracket around the HVAC unit. Put back the quarter trim panel and screws, the quarter trim bolster and link up the speaker connector. Subsequently, place the D-pillar trim cover on before installing the second seat belt lower anchoring bolt (using 39 N.m torque), then secure the second seat belt upper turning loop anchor bolt at 39 N.m, the upper liftgate trim and finish with the liftgate sill plate. After that, insert the upper turning loop anchor bolt and lower anchor bolt for the first row seat belt, tightening each to 39 N.m, before installing all seats again.
