2008 Dodge Magnum Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on a Rear-Wheel-Drive on 2008 Dodge Magnum?
A: Service the rear-wheel-drive car's outer tie rod by keeping an eye on the inner tie rod when rotating; make sure the bellows doesn't get twisted, remove the clamp from the inner tie rod and check that it is able to move freely. Put the outer tie rod through the inner tie rod and make sure to install it the same amount of turns you took it off. After that, attach the outer tie rod end (5) onto the steering knuckle (2) and tighten the nut (1) to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.). Then, place the tire and wheel assembly onto each wheel hub and torque the nuts at 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.) for regular vehicles or 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.) for police cars. Hold the car down and adjust the wheels to achieve toe specifications. Apply a tightening force of 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) to the tie rod jam nut (3).
