2008 Dodge Nitro Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Install and Replace a Brake Master Cylinder on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: Prior to fitting the brake master cylinder, make sure the rubber O-ring is securely seated on the top of the brake master cylinder at the place where it touches the booster. Wash the area on the brake booster where the brake master cylinder screws in. After that, connect the brake master cylinder to the brake booster studs and use nuts to secure, making sure they are tight at 17 Nm (151 in. lbs.). Fit the brake lines to the brake master cylinder and make sure they are tightened to 19 Nm (168 in. lbs.), before connecting the fluid level electrical connector to the reservoir. After everything else is completed, fill and bleed the base brake system.
