How to Service and Repair a Cigarette Lighter on 2008 Dodge Nitro?

Before doing any service or repair on the Cigarette Lighter, first isolate the negative battery cable. Open the console and take out the two screws. Use either a trim stick C-4755 or a similar tool to free the fasteners on the floor console trim panel at all points. Pull up and away from the gearbox on the panel to disconnect it from the console. Disconnect the panel's electrical plugs and then put the cigarette lighter aside.
