Before adding the front wiper arms, be sure to park the wiper motor by turning the key to ON and pressing the right multi-function knob to OFF. Let the wipers come to a stop before you switch the ignition to OFF again. Make sure the tip of each wiper blade points at the lines on the windshield next to the front edge when positioning the pivot ends of the arms over the wipers pivot shafts. Hold the wiper arm up a little off the windshield to take tension off the pivot tip, then bring the pivot end of the wiper arm down evenly onto the shaft. Remove the tape over the nut and fasten it after the wiper arm is secured to the pivot shaft to a torque of 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Wet the windshield, run the front wipers until they turn off and then check that the wiper arms are in the right place. Next, put back the plastic nut cap onto the wiper arm pivot nut.
