2008 Dodge Nitro Radiator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Detach a Radiator on 2008 Dodge Nitro?
A: Start by disconnecting the negative battery cable to take the radiator out. When draining the coolant, put it in a clean container and don't lose any coolant that you can use again. Don't forget to notice where all rubber air seals around the radiator and condenser are found, as they need to be reinstalled in their original spots to prevent overheating. After that, remove the front grille and, if there is one, also the cooling fan from the engine. Next, take out the two radiator mounting bolts, unplug the electric fan wire and unhook the power steering cooler from the cooler. You should remove the upper and lower radiator hoses and the overflow hose. In the lower part of the radiator, the alignment pins in the radiator tank fit into two rubber grommets on the radiator crossmember. Don't forget, the air conditioner continues to work even if the engine is idle. You can remove the radiator and the radiator fan as a single unit, so you don't have to take off the fan before removing or installing the radiator. Carefully remove the radiator from underneath the vehicle, ensuring that you do not brush the radiator fins against any other part and not to touch the air conditioning condenser if fitted.
