2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix the Rear Outboard Seat Belt in a Mega Cab on 2008 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: First, check all of the seat belts, buckles, hardware, retractors, tether straps and anchors in the Mega Cab to make sure they are properly in place, working well or undamaged and change any cut, worn, torn or twisted belts, realign warped webbing, tighten loose parts and swap any broken buckles, retractors, latch plates or anchors with copies from the Mopar section of the DaimlerChrysler manual. Connect the inner retractor onto the upper hole located at the C-pillar, so the hooks are engaged with it. Fasten the lower retractor bracket to the C-pillar with a screw that has been tightened to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Push the belt web guide onto the B-pillar until you hear the clips engage. Put the lower trim onto the C-pillar and ensure you can reach the turning loop from its face and only then install the upper trim. Slide the turning loop of the seat belt onto the upper C-pillar adjuster and attach it with a screw tightened to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Attach a new trim cover around the turning loop, so that the engagement tabs click in correctly. Set the lower anchor of the seat belt into the mounting hole at the base of the C-pillar and attach it with a screw tightened to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). After that, place the rear seat back into the vehicle.
