  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Windshield Washer Pump for Rear on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
    A: The first step to servicing the windshield washer pump is to disconnect and separate the battery negative cable. Pump the washer fluid (1) from the reservoir into a clean container that you can use again. Unscrew the two fasteners holding the reservoir to the bracket in the left front fender inner wheel house. Lift out the washer reservoir to open the area that holds the rear washer pump/motor unit (3) on the inboard side. Take the wire harness connector off the rear washer pump/motor and loosen the washer supply hose from the barbed pump outlet nipple. Pull the top of the washer pump/motor housing sharply towards the center to disconnect the motor housing from the molded receptacle in the reservoir. Apply hand pressure to raise the washer pump which separates the suction line from the rubber filter in the reservoir. Then, remove the rubber seal/filter from the hole around the pump in the washer reservoir and throw it away.
