2008 Dodge Viper Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Catalytic Converter and Ensure It Fits Perfectly in the Exhaust System on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: Put the converter at the right place and fasten the resonator to it, making sure not to tighten the clamp yet so everything can still move. Install a NEW V-Band clamp loosely around the gap between the exhaust manifold and pipe, plus the front and rear support isolators. Make sure all components are well spaced from neighboring parts by aligning the components, beginning from the front section. Then, fasten the "A" and "B" pillar side supports to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) and tighten a new resonator band clamp to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.). After you've installed the downstream oxygen sensor, attach it to its connector, install the sill panel and bring the vehicle down again. Inspect for holes in the exhaust leaking out, fix them if necessary and also check - and reposition as required - if the exhaust touches the body of the car anywhere.
