2008 Dodge Viper Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Replace the Left Exhaust Manifold on 2008 Dodge Viper?
A: To start, pull up the trunk lid and remove the battery cover to take out the negative battery cable (1). Take out the vehicle on a hoist and unplug the connector of the oxygen sensor. Take out the rubber V-Band clamp (1) from the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold joint and don't reuse it. Take off the exhaust pipe from the manifold, then remove the nuts under the engine mounts (2) before you lower the vehicle. After that, uninstall the air cleaner housing (1), the power steering reservoir and its mounting bracket and the front suspension cross tie (1). Subsequently, take away the cylinder head cover. Locate a block of wood under the oil pan and use a suitable jack to raise the engine enough to remove the exhaust manifold (4) and the gasket (1). You must take care to keep the covers and intake manifolds' powder coating clear of abrasions and scrapes while disassembling the engine.
