2008 Jeep Commander Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Brake Light Switch on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: Turn off the SRS first and then disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable for two minutes, as charged capacitors in the system could set off the air bag if the switch is disturbed. Take out the cover from the steering column area on the instrument panel. Once the brake pedal is pressed, turn the brake lamp switch housing counterclockwise about 30 degrees until the tabs on the switch locking collar fit into the keyed hole in the bracket. Press the switch back far into the keyed hole to remove it and release the brake pedal. Disconnect the cable from the brake lamp switch at last.
