2009 Jeep Commander Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Brake Light Switch on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Before servicing the brake light switch, unhook and isolate the battery negative cable, disconnect the SRS and wait for two minutes to make sure there's no air bag problem. Take off the steering column cover on the instrument panel before you start. Rotate the brake lamp switch housing back about 30 degrees while you push the brake pedal, so the tabs on the switch collar align with the hole in the bracket of the pedal. Take the keyed switch from its holder directly to the side, then step on the brake pedal again. Last, remove the wire harness connector from the brake lamp switch.
