2008 Jeep Commander Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the Washer Reservoir Installed on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: Place the washer reservoir in the wheel house along the driver's side front fender. Raise it and move it a little as you position it, since you may need to rotate it to clear any obstructions. Click the hook at the front of the tank into the matching slot in the left side frame rail, then set and tighten the two fasteners securing the tank to the rail to 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.). Connect the front and rear washer hoses to the outlet nipples of the washer pump to keep your washer systems from failing to work correctly. If you have a washer hose, reattach its connector to the fitting on the reservoir. Replace both the headlamp and dash wire harness connectors to the washer fluid level switch, the washer pump/motor and, in some cases, the headlamp washer pump/motor. Install the original plastic fasteners that hold the splash shield in place at the car's inner fender and front fascia. Bring the vehicle lower and fasten a new blind rivet to hold the washer reservoir filler neck mounting bracket in place on the upper radiator crossmember. Put the washer reservoir filler cap hinge on the hook under the filler neck, load the reservoir with washer fluid and attach the battery negative cable again.
