2008 Jeep Compass Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Intake Manifold on 2008 Jeep Compass?
A: Remove and replace the intake manifold first by releasing fuel pressure and taking care not to do it near a spark source in a well-ventilated area. Take away the engine cover before starting the process. After that, take out the hose from the air filtering system and remove the air cleaner housing. Take out the negative cable from the battery and unhook the fuel line from the rail. After that, pull out the fuel rail by disconnecting the fuel injector electrical connectors and also removing the fuel rail retaining bolts. Remove the electrical connector from the oil temperature sensor, the variable valve timing solenoid and the intake camshaft position sensor and move the harness clear of other connections. Take off the throttle body support bracket and separate the electronic throttle control electrical wire from the car. Open the wiring harness holder, detach the MAP sensor from the intake and also disconnect the vacuum lines at the intake. Then, remove the upper radiator hose bracket, remove both intake manifold retaining bolts and finally take out the intake manifold.
