How to Service and Repair an Automatic Transmission Shifter on 2008 Jeep Liberty?

To repair the A/T shifter, remove console parts for access, shift to PARK, and disconnect the transmission shift cable and park-interlock cable. Then, disengage wiring connectors and remove nuts securing the shifter assembly to the floor pan before taking the assembly out of the vehicle.
