2008 Jeep Liberty Battery Tray Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove the Battery Tray on 2008 Jeep Liberty?
A: Make sure the battery negative cable is unlinked and set aside before taking out the battery try. Then, pull out the battery. For cars with gasoline engines, pull away from the purge solenoid the vacuum hose as well as the electrical connector. Place a flat bladed tool behind the solenoid mounting clip to disengage the clip and lift it off the battery tray. Pull out the Totally Integrated Power Module cover and unscrew the nut from the post on the module and the positive cable retaining nut from the stud on it. Press the flat bladed tool onto the four mounting clips and release them to take out the TIPM housing from the tabs it is mounted to. Take out every wire connector and remove the TIPM from the vehicle. Open the lid and disconnect the retaining screws on the TIPM bracket, sliding it off the battery tray to remove it. Remove the three nuts from the battery tray on the left inner fender, then tilt back the battery tray to free it from the engine compartment.
