2008 Jeep Liberty Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Remove and Replace a Brake Caliper on 2008 Jeep Liberty?
A: Make sure the brake pads are installed before you take off and replace the caliper. Then, set the caliper in place and tighten its bolts to 37 Nm (28 ft. lbs.), making sure the brake hose isn't twisted or bent until you tighten the final bolt. Set the seal washers around the brake hose connector and then tighten the brake hose banjo bolt to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Removing the prop rod from the car should be followed by bleeding the base part of the brake system. Set up the tire and wheel assemblies and, once the supports are removed, let the vehicle drop to the ground. Once you're done, step on the brake pedal to test how firm it is before you drive away.
