2008 Jeep Liberty Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Parking Brake Cable on 2008 Jeep Liberty?
A: Lock the parking brake cables before servicing or repairing them. After that, take out the rear seat to have access to the area. Move the carpet far enough back to find the two cables for the parking brake down below through the floor. After pulling the cables from the equalizer, disconnect them from the mount with a box end wrench fitting the tangs properly. Push the cables, with the grommets, downward through the floor. Take the stabilizer bar bracket retainer out, then take the parking brake cable from the stabilizer bar retainer and mount it there. Afterward, to free the cable, loosen it from the axle bracket wit a wrench over the tangs and then detach it from the brake lever.
