How to Install a Knock Sensor on a 3.8L Engine on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

Before fitting the knock sensor, make sure the mounting hole is completely clean. Make sure to mount the knock sensor properly so that the bolts hold firmly, since tightness may influence engine performance and ignition; the torque measurement for the knock sensor bolt is 15 +/- 2 ft. lbs. or 20 Nm. The white foam ring on the bolt threads is only meant for plant assembly and should never be covered with adhesive, sealant or thread locking compound. After fixing the mounting bolt, join the electrical connector to the knock sensor, bring down the car and reconnect the negative cable.
