    A: The first thing to do when servicing a 3.8L engine's knock sensor is to disconnect the negative battery cable. After that, lift and hold the vehicle above the ground. Afterward, take away the knock sensor electrical connection, uninstall the screw holding it in and take the sensor out of the engine. You will find the knock sensor to the right of the engine block, at the rear of the right engine mount.
