Q: How to Service and Repair a Thermostat on a 3.8L Engine on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first step to fixing or repairing the thermostat on a 3.8L engine is to unhook the negative battery cable. After that, cover the air filter housing and remove it. Empty the cooling system as low as possible below the thermostat level. Take out the electrical link from the throttle body. Take out the radiator upper hose from the thermostat housing. After that, unscrew the bolts holding the thermostat housing and pull the housing out. Next, take out the thermostat and wipe clean each side that seals to the housing.
