Q: How to Correctly Install a Throttle Body on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, if the gasket is old or damaged, put in a new throttle body-to-intake manifold gasket (2) and follow with four shiny new j-nuts (1). Tightening these bolts according to their requirements prevents them from being damaged so that everything linked to the throttle (throttle body, throttle plate, gaskets, bolts and the intake manifold) will work normally. After that, place the throttle body on the intake manifold and tighten the four bolts by hand. Match the throttle body's electrical connector (3) to the throttle body (1) port. After that, torque the throttle body using a criss-cross pattern. Tighten the mounting bolts to 7.5 Nm (65 in. lbs.) with a torque wrench and use clamps to hold the clean air hose at 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.). When done, pull on the negative battery cable, insert the nut firmly with 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.) of torque, use the scan tool to erase existing DTCs and then complete the ETC Relearn procedure.
