2009 Chrysler Aspen Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Heater Core from the Front on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Before removing the front heater core, disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for two minutes for the air bag capacitor to empty. Moving, loosening or even removing the heater core tubes can result in coolant leaks, so these parts should not be serviced apart from the heater core. Begin the job by taking out the front HVAC housing and putting it on a workbench. Pull the wire harness from the recirculation door actuator. Unscrew the holding screws for the air inlet housing and carefully pull out the air inlet housing. Take care to remove the foam seal from the flange; replace it if it appears deformed. Remove the screw that attaches the heater core tube retaining bracket to the top of the HVAC house and pull out the bracket also. After that, undo and remove the screws holding the retaining bracket to the HVAC housing top and get rid of the bracket. In the end, detach the screws that hold the bracket to the top of the HVAC housing and take out the retainer after that and then carefully lift out the heater core and heater core tubes as an assembly from the same area.
