How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?

Before touching the blower motor resistor, turn off the air bag system by removing the negative battery cable and giving the air bag system two minutes to discharge. Make sure the blower motor is switched off for at least five minutes before you try to replace the resistor, because it can become very hot during operation. Operating the blower motor without the resistor in place may damage your vehicle. Turn off the car and remove the negative battery cable as the first step. Should a trim cover be there, undo the two screws securing it over the blower motor resistor beneath the right side of the instrument panel and then remove the cover. After that, separate the wire harness connector from the blower motor resistor. Unscrew the two bolts holding the blower motor resistor to the front housing and pull out the resistor within the housing.
