2009 Chrysler Aspen Knock Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Knock Sensor on a 4.7L Engine on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Before installing the knock sensor, first clean the hole where it will be installed. The knock sensor should be placed exactly as in the manual, with its mounting bolts neither overly loose nor overly tight, as this can result in issues and incorrect spark control; the correct torque to use is 20 Nm (176 in.lbs.). Remember that the foam on the bolts is just a retainer for use during plant assembly and should not be considered a seal; do not add adhesive, sealant or thread locking material to these bolts. After you've tightened the sensor, attach the wiring for the knock sensor to the engine harness at the back of the intake manifold and then mount the intake manifold.
