2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Can Proper Alignment and Clearance Be Ensured When Assembling a Catalytic Converter in the Exhaust System on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Screening the fitting components first and making sure there is free space should be done before clamps are tightened. Connect the metallic part of catalytic converter 2 to the top of the exhaust manifold with help of a new flange gasket 1. Install the c catalytic converter connector 2 caused to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). Set in place the intermediate pipe and the muffler. Working from in front of the car, match the components to ensure position and that they are the right distance from underbody parts. Clamp the bands to a torque of 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.), but not so much that the two ends press on the center block's hourglass shape, since this could cause the clamp to become loose and need replacement. When you remove sensor 1, place downstream sensor 1 in the same place and link its electric connector. Check to see if any exhaust gases are leaking, have them fixed as necessary and confirm there is no contact between the exhaust and bodywork, adjusting the alignment when it's needed.
