How to Service the Cigarette Lighter in the Front Console and Rear Cargo Area on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Prior to servicing the auxiliary cigarette lighters in the Front Console and Rear Cargo Area, remove and isolate the negative cable attached to your battery. Pay attention to where the retaining bosses sit in the mechanical drawing. Take snap ring pliers that look like a stabbing motion and place them against the inside of the bosses to release them from the base. Use a gentle motion to rock the pliers and pull the base through the mounting ring. Unplug the base wire, put the base away and take off the base mount ring. Replace the whole accessory switch bezel if the cigarette lighter mounted on the panel is broken.
