2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Drain Plug Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Drain Plug on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Your first step is to drain the cooling system before you service the radiator drain plug. Counter-rotation at the draincock to open it, but return it a quarter-turn in the other direction after it has reached the stopping point. After the air is all out, wet the draincock and pull it from the tank. It is best not to use pliers on the draincock in a car, as you could harm either the draincock or the radiator. You don't have to remove the draincock for a regular coolant drain.
