  A: Lubricate any new O-rings with clean engine coolant, set them on the heater core tubes, fasten the tubes to the core and then fasten the retaining clips in place. Slide the heater core into place at the driver's side of the air distribution housing. Install two screws between the heater core and the air distribution housing, tighten them to no more than 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). A deformed or damaged foam seal for the flange must be recognized and changed. After that, affix the foam seal to the flange of the HVAC system located near the driver side. Put the heater core cover onto the driver side of the air distribution housing and HVAC housing, after which apply three screws and tighten each to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Whenever the heater core is being changed, flush the entire cooling system. After that, insert the HVAC housing assembly.
