2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove an A/C Accumulator on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Before pulling out the A/C accumulator, cut off the negative battery cable and take out the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Offer space to the speed control servo by moving it, then access the A/C collection device (10). For cars that have a 2.4L Turbo engine, pull the purge solenoid off the bracket and move it somewhere out of your way. Take out the A/C accumulator switch (6) by pulling the lower black hose side of the system apart and open the switch, then disconnect the wire harness connector (12). Then, get rid of the two nuts (3) linked to the A/C suction line (1) and the A/C liquid line (2), so you can separate them from the accumulator tubes (4) and remove the lines. Remove the bolts (5) holding the accumulator tubes to the top of the A/C accumulator, after which unscrew the two bolts (9), remove and disconnect the accumulator tube block (4) and remove the accumulator tubes. Pull upward on the A/C accumulator to disconnect the mounting bracket from the rubber grommet on the frame rail (8). After discarding the O-ring seals and gaskets, install plugs in the open parts of the refrigerant lines, evaporator and accumulator. When you have a 2.4L Turbo engine, take the purge solenoid bracket out of the accumulator bracket.
