2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the A/C Hose Suction Line on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: First, take out the refrigerant from the system before removing the A/C suction line. For vehicles with the 2.4L Turbo engine, pull the accessory drive belt off, unscrew the three bolts that secure the power steering pump and reservoir to the engine and move the pump and reservoir out of your way. After that, take out the nut that joins the suction line retaining bracket (6) to the thermostat housing stud bolt. Take out screw (4) that holds the A/C suction line (5) to the compressor top, disconnect the A/C suction line from the compressor and dispose of the O-ring seal. Apply plugs into or tape against the opened suction line fitting and the compressor port after draining the oil. Get rid of nut (2) that connects the A/C suction line (inside the inboard fitting) to the accumulator tube tapping block (1), then take out the A/C suction line and toss away the O-ring. Installing plugs or taping over the suction line and accumulator tube tapping block port is necessary before you finally pull the A/C suction line out from the engine compartment.
