How to Remove and Repair a Trunk Lid Latch on 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

For service of the trunk/liftgate latch disconnect the negative battery cable, open the liftgate, and remove the trim panel. Lift the linkage rods out of engagement and disconnect the wire harness. Finally, remove the bolts holding the latch in the liftgate and remove the latch.
