First, thread the trailing end of the cable through the bracket on the caliper and follow it back to the lever at the caliper. Take out the parking brake cable from the housing at the car's end and put it over the caliper lever. Place the remaining cable strand inside the cable protector tube and then position the cable housing in the mounting bracket until the retainer fingers are fully locked inside, so both fingers are secure to prevent took the cable out of the bracket. Attach the right rear cable near the axle and keep it in front. Tighten the screws to 6 Nm or 55 in. lbs. Using a screw, rout the left rear cable loop under the car floor. Thread the appropriate cable from the right rear through the routing loop fixed under the vehicle. For the routing of the left rear cable, put the clamp on the axle trailing arm at the left and tighten the screw to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.). Pass the leading end of the rear cable up through the end hole in the intermediate bracket and then press the retainer through the hole till it locks. Hook up the equalizer to every parking brake cable and re-adjust the tension set by the automatic adjuster on the cables. Mount the tire and wheel to your BMW and tighten the nuts attaching the wheel to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Put the car on lower ground, move the park brake pedal one time to let the parking brake seal the cables and make sure the parking brakes are working correctly afterward.
