2009 Dodge Avenger Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose for a 2.0L/2.4L Engine on 2009 Dodge Avenger?
A: Start any power steering line/hose maintenance by placing these power steering fluid hoses away from the exhaust system and everything that might scrape or damage them. Hold the pressure hose tube in place at the gear and tighten the tube nut with a force of about 32 Nm or 24 ft. lbs. Ensure the power steering routing clamps are placed on the crossmember. After that, use a torque wrench to fasten the screws to 8 Nm. Put the routing clamp on the right side of the crossmember and tighten the screw to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). Hook the return hose into the return tube and fasten it with a clamp, turning the screw-clamp until it shows 2.5 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Next, lower the vehicle and insert one end of the pressure hose at the pump's pressure port, tightening the nut to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) Place the pressure hose routing bracket bolt on the engine mount and illen it to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Fill the power steering fluid, test for leaks and after that, put on the engine appearance cover.
