2010 Dodge Avenger Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Hose for a 2.0L/2.4L Engine on 2010 Dodge Avenger?
A: Clean the area of the power steering line/hose for the 2.0L/2.4L engine before starting, making sure it remains free of the exhaust system, driveshafts and areas that might damage it. Attach the pressure hose tube to the gear and tighten the tube nut using 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.) effort. Place the routing clamps on the crossmember and tighten the screws to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). Slide the routing clamp onto the side of the crossmember at the right side and tighten the routing clamp screw to the 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.) setting. Fit the return hose onto the return tube and hold it in place with a clamp, tightening the screw-clamp to 2.5 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Afterwards, set the vehicle back down and add the pressure hose to the pump's pressure port, but make certain the tube nut is tightened to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.). Anchor the pressure hose routing bracket with the bolt to the engine mount and tighten it at 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Fill and bleed the power steering, check for leaks next and as the final step, install the engine appearance cover.
