2009 Dodge Caliber Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Washer Reservoir on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before you get to the windshield washer reservoir, disconnect and separate the negative battery cable. After that, loosen or take out the fasteners that join the coolant reserve container for cars with gasoline engines or the coolant pressure container for those with diesel engines to the washer reservoir's inboard side. Pump the washer fluid from the reservoir (1) into a suitable container you can reuse. Unhook the washer hoses from the washer pump/motor first, pay attention to the correct spot of each line and then disconnect the engine compartment wire harness connector (7). Remove the front and rear washer hoses (3) from the reservoir hoses on the right front strut tower. On these diesel engine vehicles, you may have to take out the screw securing the differential pressure sensor bracket to the strut tower, move the sensor and then access the washer reservoir filler neck screw. Loosen and remove screw (2) securing the mounting tab of the reservoir filler neck to the right front strut tower bracket (4). Should you have a headlamp leveling system, dismount the vehicle and slide the right front lamp forward until the front of the washer reservoir passes by the leveling motor. After that, push the reservoir up while it's attached to lift the washer post (5) out of place in the hole on the underside of the front right wheel house extension (6).
