2009 Dodge Challenger Brake Pad Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace Rear Brake Pads on 2009 Dodge Challenger?
A: To take out and place the rear brake pads (except on the SRT8), support and raise the car. Remove all the wheel mounting nuts and then get rid of the tire and wheel combination. Occasionally, you may have to slightly pull the caliper piston out to ensure the shoes and rotor don't catch when taking the caliper off the knuckle; this can be done by pulling the caliper rearward and using the guide pins, but don't push on the piston, as it could cause damage. Then, with the stationary guide pin, remove the upper caliper guide pin bolt. To see the brake pads, tilt the caliper down while being sure not to pull the brake hose all the way down. Get rid of the inboard and outboard brake pads from the caliper adapter. Should you encounter any problems with the adapter, take out the anti-rattle clips from both abutments.
