The next thing to do is to support and raise the car before attempting any repair to the rear brakes. Take out the nuts holding the wheel mount in place and then lift off the tire and the wheel. Fix the guide pin in place with a wrench before turning the bolt. Following that, take out the caliper guide pin bolts. Take the disc brake caliper off the adapter bracket, hang it somewhere out of the way with wire or a bungee cord and be careful that the hose or cable from the parking brake does not overstretch. Take out the brake pads from the caliper adapter bracket.
