2009 Dodge Journey ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the ABS Control Module on Left-Hand Drive on 2009 Dodge Journey?
A: For left-hand drive Anti-Lock Brake System Module maintenance on cars without Hill Start Assist, first isolate the negative cable from the battery. First, replace the engine appearance cover, next take out the two end push-pins from the cowl top screen and then remove all the remaining push-pins. After that, pull off both the wiper arms and the push-pins holding the cowl screen to the wheelhouse brace and cowl. Then rotate the center screw 90° clockwise to let go the cowl screen. Take out the eight bolts that hold the brace on the wheelhouse and take out the brace. Once complete, remove two screws to take off the fresh air plenum. Raise up the car and carefully release the screws on the bracket without taking them out. Open the hood, lift the ICU until it is securely in the slot above it, screw it into place and then lower the car. Properly clean all parts of the ICU and the brake tubes using Mopar® Brake Parts Cleaner so dirt does not reach important areas. Press in the tabs on each side of the ABM connector cover and, while holding them down, pull the connector outward and upward until it locks into the same position. Afterward, use a Torx T20 bit to remove the four screws that attach the ABM to the HCU and pull them apart by about 38 mm (1.5 inches) to prevent the sensor or pump motor connection.
