How to Service and Repair a Timing Cover on 2009 Dodge Journey?

Before you service or repair the timing cover, do a fuel pressure release first. After disconnecting the negative battery cable, raise the vehicle. Make sure to remove the accessory drive belt and the accessory drive belt tensioner. Then, get rid of the bolts for the power steering pump and relocate it securely aside. Take out the crankshaft damper as well as the fasteners on the lower front timing belt cover. Move the vehicle onto its lowest lift point and begin to lower the engine under a floor jack. Detach the engine mount from the front of the engine and remove the fuel line at the rail. After that, find the bolts and take out the upper timing belt cover which will let you remove the front timing belt cover.
