First, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. Then, to remove and replace the serpentine accessory drive belt in a 3.7L/4.7L (and other engines) engine. Remove the belt and next rotate the belt tensioner until the belt touches its stop. Slowly rotate tensioner (7) into the freearm position after and, be carefully not to let the tensioner arm snapback as this could cause severe damage to the tensioner.
